The diverse landscape, which makes up the province of British Columbia, is also responsible for the abundance of wildlife. The different ecosystems, ranging from the semi-deserts, to the alpine tundra, and from the Pacific Ocean to the Rockies is home to different plants and animals. Each region with its distinct terrain and climate is also unique because of the vegetation and wildlife inhabitants.

Viewing wildlife must be done responsibly, with courtesy and common sense. Respect the animals and their habitats, learn about the local regulations, do not trespass on private property and consider others. When out viewing wildlife stay on designated trails and roads, never feed or touch wild animals, avoid their nesting sites and dens and leave pets at home. Use binoculars and keep your distance.
