Location: Access to this lake is a short drive either south from the ferry slip at Earl's Cove (6.5 km./4.3 mi.) or north from the community of Madeira Park, both communities are on Hwy. #101 on the scenic Sechelt Peninsula.

Resorts & Campsites: Camping, boat launching, cabins and a motel are available at the lake. Services and facilities can be found at Madeira Park and Sechelt. There is a provincial campsite right on the ocean, south of Madeira Park at Halfmoon Bay.

Fishing Report: Ruby supports a Cutthroat and Kokanee fishery. The size for the Cutthroat is usually about 1 lb. but there are reports of them reaching to 3 lbs. Spring, fall and winter are the best months for fishing. Consult your regulations as there are special restrictions. A spawning channel was constructed in 1968 on the lake outlet. Ruby is a very popular summer lake providing vacationers with excellent swimming areas and water skiing.

Klein (Killarney), north, and Waugh (Worm) Lakes - Klein (Killarney), north, and Waugh (Worm) Lakes, all small lakes that support moderate numbers of small Cutthroat that reach up to 1-1/2 lbs. A BCFS campsite can be found on Klein Lake. Full services and accommodations can also be found in the many nearby communities on Sechelt Peninsula.
