GLACIER NATIONAL PARK
The rugged mountains of the surrounding area are made up
primarily of hard metamorphic and igneous rock. There are
over 400 glaciers found in the park as a result of abundant
snowfall. Glacial movement has formed numerous cirques,
arretes, tarns and hanging valleys. The Nakimu Cave system,
which is the third longest in Canada, is located in the
park and may be accessed by applying with the park superintendent.
