Old Mining Shaft

Gold Rush Express

How would you like to travel the same waterways as the steam driven paddle wheelers of the 1800's. This historical tour will begin the Sheep Creek Bridge on Hwy 20 and bring guests upriver towards the Old Soda Creek town site. During 1858 passengers and cargo boarded paddle wheelers at Soda Creek that came in from the north, some of these paddle wheelers were built right on site in Soda Creek, using Douglas Fir trees from the surrounding hillsides.
This smooth placid stretch of river gives our passengers a chance to reflect back to those old times when life was much harder, but so much simpler. Wildlife is often seen on the riverbanks. Farms frequent the landscape as this area is often referred to as the "banana belt" of the Cariboo. We will make stops to view interesting sites and enjoy the rivers beauty.

Trips Run: June-September
Duration: 6 hrs

We will shuttle guests to the river with our passanger van at a cost of $10/person a minimum of 5 people is required.
