"Gateway
to The Great Bear Rainforest!"
Tweedsmuir
Park Lodge is nestled within Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, the largest
protected park in British Columbia. 70 km's by road from the Bella
Coola Harbour, the lodge is remotely situated on 50 acres of wilderness
land. Originally, the lodge was constructed in the early 1930's
as a hunting and fishing destination. Then in 1952, it was rebuilt
to accommodate larger groups. Tweedsmuir Park Lodge has always been
known for its warm, family style environment, international cuisine
and world-class wine cellar. The lodge property has been a Grizzly
bear and wildlife sanctuary for many years.
Before
the BC Ferries start running in mid June, you can arrive by air
using our charter service provided by Pacific Coastal Airlines .
We will pick you up or you can choose to rent a car in Hagensborg,
just around the corner from the airport. You also have the option
to fly your own plane to the Bella Coola airport or land your private
chartered helicopter on the meadow in front of the lodge. You can
also drive or bicycle from Williams Lake on Hwy. 20 across the Plateau,
traverse "THE HILL" down into the lush Valley.
Tweedsmuir Park
Lodge has the most exquisite of views and sits near the base of
an 8,000-foot rock peak. You are only steps from the Rainbow Trout,
Dolly Varden, King, Pink and Silver Salmon-filled Atnarko and Bella
Coola rivers, which are both world-renowned for fly-fishing. The
deck of the lodge and all of the beautifully constructed chalets
and cabins overlook a vast property where Grizzlies, Blacks and
Cinnamon bears are often seen.
