Tachick Lake Resort. Cabins & Camping on Tachick Lake, near Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada

Lionel and Cally Cathcart invite you to join them at Tachick Lake Resort … located on Tachick Lake … about 20 min south of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada - and just 95 km west of Prince George. We live in a truly beautiful part of Northwest BC that invites a peaceful rest from traveling -- or serves as a vacation destination.

Here at Tachick Lake Resort you can just relax, you can catch some fish, or watch the numerous species of birds including the Bald Eagle, Hummingbirds, White Pelicans. You'll even see bigger wildlife including Moose, Deer, or Bears.

Tachick Lake Resort features 8 rustic cabins which are located on the shores of Tachick Lake, just south of Vanderhoof BC. These cabins are all equipped with kitchenettes, and several also have showers and flush toilets. There is also a campground right on the lake with 14 full-hookup and almost unlimited non-hookup sites. Our central wash-house offers hot showers and flush toilets … a washer and dryer are also available for our guests … and there's free firewood.

Tachick Lake is stocked with 40,000 trout every year so there's lots of great fishing for everyone and, for your convenience, boat rentals are available for you to head out on the lake and catch some really big rainbow trout. We have a smokehouse right on the premises for your use if you want to smoke your fish before you go home.

When you're not out fishing on Tachick Lake for Rainbow Trout relax at the horseshoe pits, playing volleyball, hiking, bird watching, plus there's lots of room for soccer etc. Our resort also has a playground and a small sandy beach for the little ones. We also have a small store on site located at the office with fishing tackle, bait, ice cream, pop, ice, and various other items that you may have forgotten or run out of.

For motorized customers there are numerous possibilities for day trips in the area including a visit to Kenney Dam (the largest man made earthen dam in North America), and the National Historic Museum in Fort St. James. There are also nearby hiking trails, numerous lakes and rivers, and lots of nature to see so don't forget to bring your binoculars and your camera.

At Tachick Lake Resort on the Kenney Dam Road (just minutes from Vanderhoof and an hour and a half from Prince George in Northern British Columbia), we will do everything possible to make your stay a very pleasant one.

We'd be pleased if you would consider us in your vacation plans … or if you are planning a group event such as a fishing derby, family reunions, grad reunions, weddings, and company picnics.
