Or, try fly fishing for summer Steelhead and Rainbow Trout on crystal-clear coastal BC rivers. Customize your stay - perhaps a fly into a remote Vancouver Island lake. We
are set on 2.5 acres of private riverfront on the Cowichan River,
10 minutes from the small city of Duncan. Approximately one hour
from Victoria, close to Butchart Gardens, local wineries and antique
malls. Elegantly appointed guest rooms with river views, private
deck areas, tennis, basketball, and hot tub - Summer Place Fishing Lodge is ideal for couples or anyone seeking a relaxing retreat
with outstanding angling. 
In
addition to great angling our intimate Lodge offers tennis and (seasonal)
swimming on our private grounds. Hiking and biking are also available.
We supply bikes, racquets, and fishing gear at no additional charge.
Guided
drift boat excursions are the best way to see this famous Vancouver Island river and maximize
your hook-ups. There are no jet boats on the Cowichan River and
when angling with a guide you will have many sections of the river
and several pools to yourself. Quiet
and pristine, with lots of wildlife. Experience the thrill and excitement
of catching these large, powerful fish. Our guides have decades
of experience on the river and know the runs and pools which produce
the best. Spend the day fly fishing, or with gear, for these "Kings
of Sportfish" from the comfort of a heated drift boat. 
After
a day on the water enjoy the comfort of your room complete with
fireplace, sitting area, private deck (overlooking the river or
gardens), and large double shower with heated slate floor or sauna.
Relax in the guest lounge (with BYOB bar) near the fire or tie flies
at the fly tying table. The hot tub is open year round. Sit back
and relive the day. Wander down to the gazebo where you may spot
eagles, blue herons, river otter or spawning BC salmon.
