Welcome to one of the most beautiful places on earth! Pacific Outback Resort is a unique fishing lodge just off the North East end of Vancouver Island British Columbia on Hanson Island. Hanson Island has Blackfish Sound to the north of it and Johnstone Strait to the south of it, and we are at the point where the Queen Charlotte strait necks down to the Strait of Georgia. We get all five species of salmon Kings (Chinook), Silvers (Coho), Pinks, Sockeye, and Chum … and because of the proximity of Pacific Outback Resort we get a hundred or so runs of salmon feeding in front of us as they travel and get ready to enter their native stream. There is ample opportunity to explore the region to its fullest degree, while taking advantage of the regions best fishing spot.

Pacific Outback Resort is a fishing lodge with a maximum capacity of thirty six. Keeping the numbers at 36 allows us to give personal service to our guests. You'll relax in cabins along our bay with the main lodge just around from the cabins, and each cabin has bedrooms with ensuite, and daily maid service. The main lodge has the dining area where guests enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, and our certified chef and staff is always preparing delicious meals. The main lodge also has a common area with a TV, couches, and tables for after fishing leisure activities.

At Pacific Outback Resort, in the Queen Charlotte Sound, we provide you with the best fishing equipment available including Gold Islander MR2 fishing reels for all guests to use. From our location off the Northwest shore of Vancouver Island you'll enjoy some of the finest salmon and bottom fishing available, with all 5 species of salmon funneling through Blackfish Sound right in front of our resort and lodge. Once you've caught your salmon the crew at Pacific Outback Lodge will be pleased to have it taken care of, including having it vacuum sealed and flash frozen so it's ready to arrive home cold and fresh.

While you're on the water with Pacific Outback Resort, you'll discover the Broughton Archipelago is a mecca for wildlife spotting so bring your cameras to capture the incredible scenery and wildlife Canada has to offer in this untouched paradise. Just some of the wildlife you're likely to see includes Killer Whales, Minke Whales, Humpback Whales, Pacific White Sided Dolphins, Dahl's porpoise, Mink, Otters, Black Bears, Grizzly Bears, Wolves, and Eagles.
