at Kokanee Bay Fishing Resort on beautiful Puntzi Lake, West
of Williams Lake on Highway 20 in the Cariboo Chilcotin region
of British Columbia. Listen to the loons as you cook your freshly
caught Kokanee and Rainbow Trout. Then watch the eagles flying
overhead or a pelican swim by … you are in the timeless
beautiful Chilcotin, the best place on Earth!
At
Kokanee Bay Fishing Resort, there are 6 lakeside cabins. All
have a beautiful view of Puntzi Lake from the decks. The cabins
range in size from one bedroom to 3 bedrooms and are complete
with kitchens, one or two bedrooms, and everything you'll
need for a great stay. There are fire pits as well as picnic
tables in the grassy area in front of the cabins. The beautiful
campground has 8 sites along the lakeshore of Puntzi Lake
and 10 other sites, some of which are pull-throughs. All sites
are serviced with power and water and have fire pits and picnic
tables. There are central washrooms with showers as well as
laundry facilities. There is a playground for the kids and
a fenced in area for playing volleyball, badminton or other
sports.
Puntzi
Lake is 7 miles long, 3 miles wide, and 145 feet at its deepest.
It is well known for excellent fishing for kokanee and rainbow
trout. We carry various lures and bait in our tackle shop.
Use our boat launch and docks for your boat or rent boats
and motors from us. At Kokanee Bay Fishing Resort you can
clean your fish in our screened fish house and then freeze
your fish in the supplied freezer. We sell Fishing Licenses
for your convenience. This area of British Columbia is good
for hunting many large game like deer and moose as well as
some game birds.
The
area around Kokanee Bay Fishing Resort, west of Williams Lake
on Highway 20 in the Cariboo Chilcotin region of BC, has many
hiking and biking trails with endless places to discover.
There is also a trip up to the top of Puntzi Mountain where
you can enjoy a view of the Chilcotin plateau and mountain
ranges. You can also visit a turn of the century abandoned
homestead, now part of Duck's Unlimited property and close
to a wonderful area for bird viewing.
Kokanee
Bay Fishing Resort on Puntzi Lake is located 180 kilometers
west of Williams Lake (270 km east of Bella Coola) on Highway
20 in the historic West Chilcotin district of British Columbia.
For aircraft, there is a 6,000 ft paved runway at Puntzi Mountain
airstrip which is only 15 minutes from the resort.
