CHILDREN
We offer families with children, a 50% discount off our double occupancy
rate for all children fully under the age of 12 (equal to UPDATING per
child per night), if they are sharing a cabin with their parents, or
with other children in any available shared three or four person cabin.
We regret that we cannot discount accommodation packages for children
12 years of age or older. This area is not a playground. Parents must
remember that Fortress Lake is a rugged and remote wilderness area,
with no rapid access to medical attention. Our staff also have many
daily tasks, and cannot be held responsible for your children's safety.
Therefore, we expect that the parents of children visiting the camp
will carefully supervise the actions and activities of their children
on a full time basis while visiting Fortress Lake Wilderness Retreat.
AIRFARE
The round trip scenic flight between Golden, BC and Fortress Lake is
normally taken in our world renowned DeHavilland Beaver Floatplane.
This spectacular flight along the spine of the Canadian Rockies takes
approximately one hour in each direction. We regret we are not able
to offer children or groups a discount on the cost of these flights.

NON-ANGLING

Non-anglers will receive a 10% discount on our accommodation rates IF
they are not using the powerboats. Please note that anglers not using

SPECIAL
PROGRAMS GROUP RETREATS:
Fortress Lake Wilderness Retreat can be booked for your exclusive use
at any time of the year. We have the ideal location for weddings, family
reunions, meetings, employee incentives, or seminars. We also specialize
in developing single or multi-day customized group itineraries, and
multi-sport adventure tours with or without the inclusion of programs
at Purcell Lodge, our luxurious and remote helicopter-accessed mountain-top
retreat, west of Golden. We will be happy to design and quote a specialty
program to meet your specific needs.
DAY
TOURS:
If you are unsure about your level of commitment to wilderness adventures,
we can offer you an introductory day tour to Fortress Lake. These non-threatening
outings are designed to show inexperienced folks the natural wonders
of this marvelous area, and will demonstrate that wilderness destinations
and their associated activities are not normally dangerous, and that
they are indeed, the ideal stress relief option for your next vacation.
We depart Golden BC in the morning by DeHavilland Beaver float equipped
aircraft. After take-off you can sit back and enjoy the guided tour
provided by your pilot, an experienced local mountaineer, while the
hour-long scenic flight proceeds along the stunningly beautiful Continental
Divide region of the Canadian Rockies. We touch down at Fortress Lake
in time for a hearty camp lunch, and a pleasant guided afternoon nature
walk. Following a few contemplative minutes to enjoy the unique spirituality
of this pristine wilderness, we board the aircraft for the spectacular
return flight to Golden. Total tour time is approximately five hours.
