Eagle
Island Resort is located right just off Highway #24 …
the famous “Fishing Highway” … is a modern
paved corridor which connects the South Cariboo communities
of Little Fort and 100 Mile House, and is only one hour and
15 minutes north of Kamloops in BC’s Thompson Nicola
region.
Our cabins at Eagle Island Resort, at Lac Des Roches, are
Authentic, Rustic, Cozy and Clean … the perfect solution
for a family vacation! All cabins have fully stocked Kitchens,
Fridges, Stoves or Hotplates, and Wood Stoves. Many of our
large RV / Campsites are lakefront, all with access to brand
new private docks. They have power and water hook-ups, and
all of our RV and Campsites have fire pits and picnic tables.
A new central washroom facility provides you with hot showers
and flush toilets. Our RV / Campsites are available for year-round
lease.
Lac des Roches is one of the best fishing and recreational
lakes in south central British Columbia. The lake is up to
150 feet deep and produces Rainbow Trout up to 15 pounds,
as well as Burbot (fresh water cod). The lake has sunken islands,
weed beds and a world renowned Mayfly hatch the first week
of June. The west end has speed controls helping to keep this
a great fly fishing and canoeing lake.
We offer fishing equipment, bait, ice, canoes, kayaks and
boats with modern 4-stroke outboards. Our resort store offers
kids toys, soft-drinks, candy, firewood and more. Kids of
all ages will enjoy the playground at Eagle Island Resort
… along with the beach, swim dock and swim platform (Eagle
Island Resort boasts the largest swim dock in the area!).
Nearby you can get pretty much anything you may need …
outdoor stores, gift shops, liquor and food stores all just
a short distance away. Other family fun activities nearby
include horseback riding, golf, white water rafting, hiking
or take a scenic drive to crafters shops or the farmers market.
When you vacation at Eagle Island Resort remember we offer
several rental choices so that you can experience all that
the lake has to offer. Rent a canoe, kayak or paddle boat
and paddle around Eagle Island … or through the
narrows to the East end of the lake. Lac Des Roches is one
of the most photographed lakes in British Columbia, and a
nature lover’s paradise. Get on board one of our fishing
boats, pack up the family and spend a day cruising and fishing
on the lake. Just before a beautiful South Cariboo sunset
ends your day, you’ll find it’s the best time to
view and photograph wildlife along the shores of Lac Des Roches.
