to Backcountry Snowcats at Mount Hurley Lodge. Based in Pemberton,
in the Sea to Sky region of British Columbia, our Cat Skiing
and snowboarding operation is hidden near Whistler in the
South Chilcotin Mountains.
With colder and drier weather than nearby Whistler, we get
all of the same storm cycles. It snows on average 10m (32ft)
of cold dry snow per season accumulating up to 3.5m (11.5ft)
base, making the terrain prime for your skiing and riding
adventures. Our trained and licensed guides at Backcountry
Snowcats will take you on an "out of this world adventure"
that will keep you coming back year after year. And …
a 15-minute cat ride from the lodge takes you to the top of
your first run.
We are also excited to provide additional winter recreational
activities for those who are not keen on Cat Skiing or Snowboarding.
These include Snowshoeing and Cross-Country skiing. Family
and friends will enjoy these fun activities, and reminiscing
about the days events out on the snow. At Backcountry Snowcats
we offer over 8 km of snowshoe trails that loop right from
the lodge, offering a casual stroll in the valley for photography
and wildlife viewing. We also have over 18km of cross-country
skiing trails for groups who want to cruise the area or seriously
train for the 2010 Olympics.
Enjoy staying at Hurley Mountain Lodge, a private and comfortable
mountain retreat, for the exclusive use of Backcountry Snowcats
guests. You'll arrive at Hurley Mountain Lodge after an exciting
40 minute snowmobile ride up the Hurley Pass road from the
Pemberton Meadows staging area. The lodge, located in the
Hope Creek Valley at 5000 ft. (1430m), is a modular building
designed to accommodate up to 10 guests, and for your convenience
and comfort we offer double occupancy rooms, men's and women's
washrooms and showers, a full kitchen, dinning area and a
relaxing lounge area.
